We are currently trying to devalue our currency by printing more money to combat China's manipulation...hoping to fix the trade gap. That is an unsafe method as if we continue to print money and China stops manipulating their currency lower, we could see significant inflation overnight regardless what the core inflation says....which is basically inflation with blinders on as it ignores most everything important to the regular citizen. This is why standing up to China now, not later, is very important yet major media ignores it.

In a game of chess, China is about to put us in check.

Re: Tax China To Fix Our Problems? In November 2003, Warren Buffett in his Fortune, Squanderville versus Thriftville article recommended that America adopt a balanced trade model. The fact that advice advocating balance and sustainability, from a sage the caliber of Warren Buffett, could be virtually ignored for over seven years is unfathomable. Media coverage that China has kept it currency undervalued is a gross understatement, it has actually been keeping the U.S. dollar over-valued; which adversely affects all U.S. trade with all U.S. trading partners, not just trade with China. Until action is taken on Buffett’s or a similar balanced trade model, by the powers that be, America will continue to squander time, treasure and talent in pursuit of an illusionary recovery.

Re: A Daytraders Strategy: Part 1 of 2

Lonnie,

The reason to utilize all three is because they all have strengths and weaknesses in their design. By using all three, you can help minimize the false signals, so to speak. It is definitely more of an art than a science and takes time to create a comfort zone. Stop by the live chatroom during market hours (link above) and we can discuss it further, if you'd like. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Good luck out there,
Mike

Re: A Daytraders Strategy: Part 1 of 2

Thanks Mike. I appreciate you sharing your technique. I still don't know the differences between the A/D, OBV, and CMF. I thought they all try to show money flow (which I think of as accumulation). Obviously, I need to examine them further. Trading as a career has been a dream of mine for some time, but I don't have a technique that is repeatable, until now.

Re: Dangerous Stock Market Forum Pumpers: Be Careful

cool Thanks

Re: Dangerous Stock Market Forum Pumpers: Be Careful

SEC accuses ATNP of pump-dump scheme. However, I have too much long-side risk at the moment to buy into OREX right now. I'd rather wait to see if the sell-off does happen. ARNA is likely to have a larger sell-off because ARNA is the one with the meeting next week and OREX isn't until December but OREX is likely to move in conjunction with ARNA.

At what price will it fall? That all depends on the panic sell itself. Your best bet is to be prepared and focused come Monday and watch very closely....than buy in a few increments and shave off profits in increments as well so you're playing with as much of the houses money as possible. You could buy in around 5 but i think we could see mid 4's because the price has increased nicely over the past week. Had we not seen the jump in price recently, I'd be less concerned of a Monday sell-off for OREX.

Look at the OREX chart in July. VVUS (another weight-loss drug that had its advisory board meeting that week) has its meeting on July 15th. The documents were released on the 12th. OREX was already near its lows of the year so I believe that contributed to a minimal sell-off.

So with that being said, if you don't have a lot of longside risk, you could definitely justify a gamble in the low 5's but don't be surprised if you get some opportunities in the 4's to buy....assuming you move quick though. I would not expect 4's to last too long before it bounces back above 5. It is likely to fluctuate a lot so make sure your heart can take it, ha.

Hope that helps....we are likely to be in the chatroom trading it as well so feel free to stop by during market hours.

Good luck out there,
Mike

Re: Unemployment Claims As Bullish As They Seem?

Michael, i totally agree with your analysis but through out your article, you have used S&P 500 levels like "1015" or "key resistance levels are the 1010 level which we broke today". i think this is mistyping and it should have been "1115" or "1110 level which we broke today".
At what price you think OREX is a good buy? much appreciated and thanks!

Re: The New Trading Range?

Potential Analyst Upgrades in Sirius XM's Future? And to be honest, I don't think the concept is really all that great, especially when you consider how companies with far larger name recognition can provide reasonably similar services (i.e. Google 411).

Sadly, if it weren't for the pumpers out there, I probably wouldn't have been able to make money out of stocks like GOIG.
